To various CMU posts below, do you know if you can get accepted to multiple PhD programs at CMU? For example can you get offer from both CSD and MLD? Or you would get to be accepted to one. Thanks.

Faculty interviewed me. Math and Physics major; 2 years of physics research, 1 year of CS research. Decent GRE and very lucky! Artificial Intelligence, Crowd Simulation, Digital Storytelling. Offered TA for two years under advisor that interviewed me

Computational Biology Department - I really expected to get in. I've been in contact with a faculty there and he seems interested. I already have an admission from UCLA but really preferred this one. Sad.

To the post below, I applied with Computer Vision as 1st preference, and haven't heard anything back either.

Email came out ~2AM CST. Area: Systems. 1 interview beforehand

Thinking of accepting it, my first acceptance after I got a rejection from the University of Vermont. Field: HCI/AI/ML, 1 first-authored paper in IEEE and one to be presented. Strong LOR. Offered GTA with 22.5k yearly stipend. Have to research further.

I am writing in response to your application to the M.S. Program in Computer Science at Dartmouth College. I regret to inform you that, after careful consideration and long discussions, the Admissions Committee has decided not to offer you admission to the program. We had a very large applicant pool, but only a small number of spaces. As a result, many highly qualified students had to be denied admission. Therefore, please do not take this rejection as an indication that you are not qualified to enter an M.S. program; the simple fact is that the admissions committee receives far too many applications each year to admit all qualified applicants.
