Creative Writing Poetry, Johns Hopkins University English minor, health allied major. Had some excellent recommendations and a strong resume (volunteered teaching creative writing to high schoolers, some publication history). I did screw up the critique essay-- the prompt on the website and the prompt in the application form were different and I had written based on what was on the website (analyzed someone else's work rather than my own). Attached an apology letter to the front of the critique explaining the situation. Not sure if this was what caused the rejection or if they just didn't really vibe with my sample. They were my #5 school.
