Nice email from Ted Sider. This is how you write a rejection letter. It was to the point, sincere, and acknowledged that the whole "very strong pool" talk doesn't make the rejection easier.

Unsolicited email from Prof. Taschek. "We have a rather complicated rank ordering of the wait list, part of which depends on areas of interest. So should we find ourselves dipping into our waitlist, who we will then admit will depend on who has declined admission up to that point, and who is left." He adds that I am quite high on the list. Fingers crossed!

3A/1w/3R not too worried

That's one really long-coming wait list notification! Apparently there were some difficulties resulting in the delay. Nice enough email, though.

MA GPA=4.0. So far no admits and 4 waitlists (though 2 have told me that I am too low on the list to have a decent shot at an offer) with 6 schools left to hear from.

2a/3w/4r (18) This makes the two rejections from earlier today better. Glad to be out of no-reply-limbo.
