Statistics Graduate School Admission Results

I had 4 LORs, research assistant experience, data science fellowship experience, additional non-academic survey research experience, two relevant bachelor's (statistics+ economics), and have documentation of low-income status + physical medical circumstances that dinged my GPA a bit. I was also offered a TAship.

By international, I mean non-Canadian.

Have a master's in applied and computational mathematics from JHU whiting with honors. although, it is from their part-time division EP. going to complete the post masters certificate with a thesis and hopefully that will help me for 2025...

Email with admission letter and, no scholarship, informed in a following email.

International student. Fully funded + stipend ($20.5k for 9 months).

Standard rejection. 6r/0a, 3 apps left.

From top 3 universities in Hong Kong, 2 strong LoR from 2 reputed professors, 1 top journal under review, 3 episodes of research experiences. BTW, I want to find others who have been accepted by this program.

I have fairly strong background in math. Took measure theory and proof based linear algebra. I emailed the department and they said that “ Applicants that have been recommended for admission have been contacted.” So basically a rejection. If you have not heard back from them, probably just wait till they send you a rejection letter in the next few weeks.

4 data science/machine learning internships, limited research, 1 year full-time experience as a data scientist at a large tech company

I am only coming on here to warn ppl know not to come here. I am not going to accept my offer so if you're on the waitlist maybe keep an eye out. But BE AWARE this place is messed up. seriously. Not just the school but also the department and its leadership. If you got into another program, take it. If you can't, just try again next year. I promise it is not worth it. I wish I could say more. I have only spent one single day on the uc santa cruz campus and the only redeeming thing about it was the view. Fly, you fool.
