Graduate School Admission Results

Ignore the status. I have not received anything from Stanford. Does anyone know if that means waitlisted or rejection?

Without a fellowship. Have one year to find a thesis director.

Applied for AMO; meaningful research ~6 mo. in computational non-AMO subject w/ 1 poster presented. 2 virtual summer research internships, neither AMO (I did better in the 2nd one). Personal statement contained why I chose AMO, how research shaped my thinking habits, and why I picked UW-Madison.

I received this, perhaps a generic rejection- Regretfully we must inform you that we are not able to grant you admission to the PhD program in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Although your academic credentials are certainly outstanding, the large size and excellent quality of this year's applicant pool for our graduate program required us to deny admission to many qualified students such as yourself. We are a relatively small department in terms of faculty size, and we take great measures to ensure that we can adequately supervise all of our admitted graduate students, which can only be accomplished by limiting admissions to the program.

Applied to quantum computing. Have a couple of years of research experience (2 publications + 2 under review) but not in quantum. I majored in Electronics probably that's why a rejection. Kind of expected :(

No GRE nor publications, but dual-majored in physics and chemistry with two years of research (no REUs). Received mail to check portal.
