Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Emailed last week and asked about who likely it was that I accept the offer. 3 publications, 1 in a US Journal, many years of research and teaching experience, contacted potential advisor in advance.

To the poster on Chicago below: as I think many would probably be aware, Chicago maintains a tradition of interviewing the shortlisted candidates immediately during Jan. This does not absolutely mean one is rejected without an invitation to interview (as could be put on the waitlist if they still think you are secondarily competitive), but his chance is getting shrinking at this moment, if must think of it. Just a kind note.

Got an "informal" phone call from the department.

Received a "waitlist" email. But becaue I have external funding, the grad coordinator told me that they are trying to figure out the funding arrangements to offer a modified funding package.

I'm on the waitlist for funding, and they will only admit students with full funding. All admitted students, if you don't plan to attend Rutgers, please let them know soon! Thx
