email from the director of graduate studies that they want to set up a skype interview for next week with 'several professors'

My undergrad and current grad program isn't sociology so I wasn't really expecting to get in.

Generic Email. Don't mind since I got into more highly ranked programs.

I emailed to ask about decision timeline because I'm impatient AF. "Our committee is in the process of reviewing the applicants. We hope to have some decisions by the end of this month." Similar for UPenn: "Hopefully by the end of February."

Have MA in Soc with strong Env Soc background. Would have fit well with dept. Grad GPA 3.89. One pub in review and RA experience.

Undergrad from a US university; masters from UK university

Call from DGS notifying me of admission and five years of funding.

"Awaiting program decision" is still the status. I reached out to the dept and got the definitive no. My master's thesis advisor is a tenured faculty in the dept. Published in a Berkeley journal. Numerous conference presentations. Research subject is in the Minneapolis metro. Currently hold an adjunct position teaching racial issues.

Invited to Recruitment Event

Email saying I was accepted. Funding is limited and will come at a later date. DGS didn't BCC so I can see that they sent out this acceptance email to 25 of us.

Canadian student.

Director thinks that there are better programs (in the system) that align with my interests, but seeing how I want to become a sociology professor, I highly doubt it.

Just saw the Department's insiders' list. Congrats to the eight admits.
