Computer Science Graduate School Admission Results

POI sent an email for interview on 15.02.2021. I already gave the interview on 23.02.2021. The POI will take the decision in 2 weeks. Research area is in computer vision. I already have a Masters degree and 1.5 year work experience (in an industry research lab) and 1 first-author paper in a top conference. I was genuinely surprised that the POI emailed because of the insane number of applications that MILA gets.

They said they cannot offer me a financial assistantship which to me translates to a polite rejection. But seriously, what is the purpose of giving admission if there is no funding?:))) what kind of idiot would go there do a Ph.D. and not even getting paid but pay them tuition too. It is hilarious.

I think the interview went well. Surprise there are interviews for Master program. Based on previous results it seems not many need to go through this process. Anyhow, hope for the best!

TTPB can you tell the initials or the name of the person you mailed?

TTPB: pretty sure there are no interviews for MSE. PhD decisions came out only last week, which is later than usual. MSE results are usually 1-2 weeks later, so my guess is next week sometime.

TTPB: does that mean all offers have been extended by now and whoever did not receive an offer by now should expect a reject?

I meant they don't do interviews. Just GradCafe updated so you have to choose one of the options.

Emailed potential PI, and they notified me offers have been extended and that she passed on me.

Nope, still haven't heard back yet, getting anxious and I didn't know they did interviews for Master's candidates.

Has anyone heard from this program yet? Didn't get an interview lol just needed to choose something.

TTPB: Can you please tell if you were accepted for the CS specialization or the EE specialization?

Emailed department. Got reply that they will continue send out admissions until early March.
