Was placed into my first choice college. Denied Gates Scholarship. Waiting for results of other funding requests.

Still haven't heard back about funding.

Responding to request below for profile overview. International student with Political Science undergrad from a highly ranked department in the United States. General interests: institutions and political parties. Weaknesses: GPA. Strengths: recommendation letters, writing samples, and research experience. No GRE / other test scores. Hope this helps!

Mates, please DO NOT freak out about the GAO stage! It may not be a 100% sure thing to get through, but that's simply because some people forge their documents (dubious references or fake transcripts; transcripts can be unofficial, it's not required to submit an official transcript), plagiarize in their proposals, or do not meet the minimum GPA requirement (though the degree committee would already reject those cases if that was a problem). If you're not guilty of these, there's no reason for GAO to not offer you admission (I am not sure what to think about the post below regarding the mysterious withdrawal; I've never heard that either). That said, please give them 1-3 weeks to release your offer to the world, especially given the technical difficulties they are experiencing at the moment. I agree with the poster below: they won't be able to do anything until Feb 20th because they also cannot access the system, so that's the earliest that're gonna start sending out offers (they told me so in an email). Netflix and chill till then!:)

To the poser below from the MPhil International Relations and Politics - I'm in the exact same boat for the same course, went to GAO on Monday but haven't heard back after that. Let's hope that we hear good news when the system is back up on Tuesday - unfortunately I'm on a 29 hour flight that day so will be frantically searching for airport wifi!

POLIS people - anybody heard anything new? I am an EU MPhil condidate but haven't heard anything about funding or my supervisor. Anybody heard about any of those two? Seems like it's been only the PhD people so far.

To the poster below, I have not heard either. Don't know why they can't just send a rejection and end the anxiety. According to last year submissions on this forum, seems like most acceptances were done by 23rd :/
