Expected this rejection. However I got a very nice note stating that they loved my manuscript and, while they assume i'll be getting different offers, if I don't land anywhere they want me to apply again next year.

Very nice phone call followed by a personalized email! Very excited, sounds like a unique and well funded program!

I called and received a kind personal email response. My application is still active, but they have already notified accepted and waitlisted candidates, so it's very unlikely my status would change. I suppose you could say I'm on the waitlist list for the waitlist. So if you haven't heard from them, you might be in this same position (99% probably rejected).

Emailed the department asking for a status update and received a pretty standard email rejection.

Interviewed earlier in the week and got a phone call 3 days later from Josh Henkin with the acceptance. Extremely smooth and personal process!
