Graduate School Admission Results

To the poster below, I have my interview on Monday so I don't think they have made any decisions yet. What did they ask you in the interview?

But isn't 50% attrition rate normal for top PhD programs? So is Rochester really that tough on that? Also I have heard that Rochester has changed a lot, the old faculty that were part of that culture have left and with the change in prelim exams to focus on the research paper, the attrition rate is actually lower in recent years....

I heard somewhat different things about Rochester Finance from insiders: High attrition rate is the case for economics PhD program, where it is much higher than 50%. But it does not seem to be the case for finance. I heard the same about little interaction between faculty members and students, caused by low faculty/phd students ratio and a mismatch in research interests, since most professors are theorists.

interview passed over one week, anyone knows when they make final decisions?

Two offers are out. I was invited for a PhD information day on March 2.

Had my interview today. Over 30 candidates were interviewed though many have already dropped out. Flyout will be mid to late March.
