Mechanical Engineering Graduate School Admission Results

Had previously interviewed. The interview did not go very well, so expected this. Wasn't a great fit. All the best to whoever got in!

Two papers in the Journal of Thin-Walled Structures (one open-access without charge), TOEFL iBT: 105, 4 years of work experience (3 years in industry +1 year as a teacher), 3 strong LORs, various software and programming languages, and myriad academic projects; GPA is for master. I wish all the best for admitted applicants.

Interviewed with PI mentioned in SOP, accepted about a week later. 2 years industry experience, undergrad research but no publications, specific/niche PhD research interest. Did not take GRE.

Mechanical undergrad from top NIT. 1 year of work ex in EV's, 1 year full time research assistant in autonomous vehicles, 2 part time research assistantships and 1 international internship. 1 conference publication and 2 journals ( 1 published,1 under review )

Got into CMU and UMich though :) But MIT has always played a large role in my dreams

CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!! I'll be graduating with my B.S. in Chemical Engineering in May. I was already rejected by MIT ChemE and Materials Science, so I was not expecting to get in!!!
