Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Accepted with 5 years of funding. Interviewed first week of March, and had great interactions with all of the faculty. Still waiting to hear about a couple schools I'm waitlisted at, but very excited!

TTPB: I am also waitlisted by U of T, and I have not heard from them. My friend who was admitted told me that they were required to make their decision before March 15, so I guess that the school will make decisions on the waitlist in recent days.

Question, has anyone been rejected from UVA yet? Has everyone gotten an interview or are there still folks who haven't heard anything from them yet?

Received acceptance today! Funding information to come next week.

TTPB: Okay, good to know, I was worried for a moment! I definitely have a great match with the program, and don't think there's a high likelihood of much movement on waitlists this semester, so getting another waitlist or rejection would have been crushing. Maybe we'll see each other there in the Fall!

TTBP: This should be the initial round of interviews the first week of March... They emailed me in Feb to schedule meetings for the week of Mar 1. But we had to reschedule the meeting due to time conflict.

TTBP: You say you had a panel interview? Was this after the initial round of interviews the first week of March?

TTPB: Had a panel meeting with some faculty members. They said I was admitted but they need about one more week to discuss details. They also said they planned to give out 5 offers this year. So I think we are in the same boat. Do you plan to commit to MSU if admitted? Best of luck!

TPPB: First, contrats for your admission! I'd like to know: did you interview? If so, what kind of questions were you asked?

Has anyone notified whether to be accepted, rejected, or on the waitlist from MSU? I'm still waiting for the result. If you have heard any information, please share it with me.

Has anyone who applied to the MA Sociology and Education program heard back? Someone on the forum said they got in already, I wasn't aware that it was a rolling admissions deal.
