Graduate School Admission Results

I received my admission offer on 25th April. I am from India with a background in Earth Science. I completed M.Phil in Geophysics from Columbia University, New York.

Response from Lee: Due to an overwhelming number of applications to the program for the September 2017 intake (over 500 applications for the 50 available positions), the Admissions Committee is presently continuing their applications reviews and hope to have all final official results sent by email in the next few weeks, after all applications have been duly and fairly reviewed. We apologize for this slight delay and we thank you very kindly for your patience and understanding.

I am waiting to hear back from UBC MDS program and I am from India. I have been checking this fourm and some facebook connections. I don't know anybody with an admit yet. Lee from the admin office had mentioned mid april as the time for decisions.

The latest info from Lee about they still reviewing the applications, how old is that? Did he mention that this week?

I have applied to MDS program. Guys, can you please advise me on the Post Study work permit. This program is only for 10 months so that means we get a work permit for only 10 months? That will be less than a year's work experience making us ineligible for certain streams of permanent residence. Has anybody got any information regarding this? Also the provincial nominee program for BC has International Post Graduate stream which doesn't require a job offer but the degree must be from pure science natural science IT computer maths stats etc. I looked at this list and found it strange that MDS program isn't listed in it though it's a math and stat program. I will appreciate any help and information!

To the post below, nope I haven't heard heard anything back from NYU after waitlisted. Deadline for those accepted to decide on their offers is May 13, so hopefully we can hear back of final decision some time around mid to late May?

Applied to fall 2017 but accepted to Spring 2018

To the post on 28th April. I didn't send them an email. I was notified by them via email.

I have sent an email to the program director of Ryerson University regarding the same you people are discussing about. Not getting any update about your application status is frustrating and ridiculous. How can they put student\'s career at risk by doing so, as being an International student we have paid 110 CAD just for an single application. I believe they should atleast have a courtesy to respond or update a status of an application. We should publish this on facebook or should do something (Blog or quora) and write about all such things about ryerson university. so that next time other student dont waste their money and dont wait to hear from them for so long.

Still waiting. Been warned these programs are a cash grab.

I am accepting the offer. Anyone accepting or heard back anything from them?

Studied Finance as undergrad, self taught software developer with 4+ years experience in startups with experience in marketing, sales, customer success, product development, software development, etc... Process of admission: submit app -> +4 weeks -> Interview -> +2 Weeks -> Phone call with admission decision -> +1 week -> official email of admission.

No one is saying that internationals should have priority!!! What Universities in Canada REALLY should do, is to put this information on their websites!!! We should be aware that internationals have no priority and that they to not care about our visa process and all the providences needed for someone who are going to live in another country. We you read their websites, it seams that we (international) are going to have the same possibilities of a national one. This is serious and not fair.
