Ignore Waitlist. I have seen a few notifications from NW about acceptances and waitlist. If we have not received any request for interviews, or notifications for waitlist or acceptances, does that mean a rejection? Or are they still in the process of deciding? I don't have a very stellar application, but was very hopeful for NW.

Portal update, did not get an email yet but expect one soon. Did not take GRE.

Interviewed with POI on 2/06, waitlist notification via email. Pretty bummed since I thought the interview went well /: Does anyone know how common it is to get off a PhD waitlist?

Hep-Th. Very grateful to have other offers from good unis. To the other hep-th applicants caught in the bloodbath, it seems to be becoming the norm to take a gap year for (unpaid) research and reapply because of how competitive things are. Keep your chins up!

Applied for hep-th + quantum gravity. 2.47 undergrad GPA, but rallied and got a 3.9 in a good M.S. + four publications + strong recs + work experience as a FAANG engineer. Don't lose hope!

Applied to HEP-TH. Had 1 first-author publication in my field and contact with a professor there. Extremely sad and disappointed. Been rejected by all the schools I wanted to get into. HEP-TH selection is hard and criteria makes little (though I could obviously be biased.)
