They informed that processing applications is taking longer than expected - end of May now - and asked if I was still interested in a response. That isn't a wait list is it?

Prof. Marija, one of the Admissions Committee interviewers, replied: It seems that we are slowly feeling up our class, and we won't be making any offers before Apr 15th as many people have extended deadlines. Therefore, I think it is better if you proceed with one of your other offers. I am sorry that the process took long, but many factors play into its dynamics.

Is it only my impression or waiting lists are moving pretty slowly, more than previous years? What can we expect in the following days?
