Graduate School Admission Results

Third attempt. From Alberta, Canada. sGPA = 3.77. Three years research experience; varied projects in Ling, Kines, and Neuro. 1 year TA experience in Ling. 50 hours shadowing SLPs. 100 hours volunteer at a children's clinic. Currently, coordinating a research project focused on improving child outcomes in early learning programs. 7 years of professional experience in the mental health & disability field.

Canadian applicant first attempt. Major= Children's Literature and Ling and Psych minors. cGPA 3.6/4 and SubGPA (ORPAS) 3.91/4. GRE: V149, Q152 AW5. Two summer paid internships with an SLP, one paid research assistantship with an SLP, 3 years volunteering with two SLPs, and two days of shadowing in hospital and adult SLP settings. TA experience and undergrad research. References: the SLP I have worked with for the last few years, the prof I T'A d for, and a linguistics prof.

GRE 300 out of state applicant. gpa 3.87 no NSSLHA membership. Lots of experience in ABA/geriatrics.

No GRE. Waitlisted 2 weeks prior to receiving acceptance letter. Received a scholarship and graduate assistance ship position.

BA in Communication. Research assistant with a linguistics lab since fall 2023. Volunteered with adults with aphasia since summer 2024. GPA is hard to calculate because I went back to school to do the prereqs for the program (current GPA is 4.26/4.33 ; GPA from my BA was 3.69/4.33). Declined this offer, accepted one from another Canadian school.

Got a phone call from one of the professors telling me the good news!! Stats: 3.8 slp GPA, 3.2 cumulative GPA, lots of volunteer experience & approx 50 hrs of clinical observation
