Speech Language Pathology Graduate School Admission Results

I am also from NY. With all rejections & still waiting on 2 more which I probably won't get accepted into. I guess I need to change up my career choice at this point. Here's to taking a year off and figuring out what to do!

Hi, already posted that I was accepted but wanted to share my stats. I have an undergraduate degree in elementary and special ed with a GPA of 3.75 and my post bac GPA is 3.9. My GRE was low, 930 but I have had a good amount of volunteer work and have been working as a teachers assistant at a school for children with disabilites for the past 3 years. Good Luck!

To the person who decided to go to Kean- I am deciding between there and one other school. I have put my deposit down but know NOTHING about Kean's program. Can you offer some insight? Also, do you know who to contact in terms of finding out more information? I have been calling them and they haven't been helpful, but I am very interested in the school! THanks :)

That makes me feel so much better that I am not the only one! It's just a little frustrating that we have to accept to certain schools by the 15th and they still have not let us know yet

No i havent tried contacting them. Im just so frustrated with them I could only imagine what it would be like in graduate school. I decided to go to Kean University-- i found out from them march 14th!!! and there deposit was due the 30th.

Clarion poster below, I applied to Clarion last year and never received a letter. I called and was told that they only had room for their own students and therefore I was not accepted. So I would say you should call to get it over with.

I also haven't heard back from Temple! Did you try contacting them? I'm also expected to put deposits down on other schools...but Temple is my first choice. Ah!

Is anyone still waiting to hear from Northwestern?

Im at the point that I do not even care anymore!!!! I have not heard one thing from temple and have been admitted to other schools. Due to the fact that I have had to make deposits already to other schools I have chosen not to go here. Its April! the deadline for everything was feb 1. how could it take that long--- so frustrating!

I am from NY too. I'm thinking about switching over to Occupational therapy, I dont think it's as competitive.

In response to the person who posted about MGH versus BU this weekend, I totally agree. I went into the weekend loving MGH and really expecting to be affirmed in my feelings and want to go there... but I left feeling so impressed by BU and so comfortable there. I am still working out the details but I think I am going to take their offer! Anyone else have thoughts on this?

well I called last week and was told they already rejected a lot of people and that the people who haven't heard yet were put on a hold list, not a waitlist, just meaning that a decision hasn't been made. i was told we'd know by like now though! i don't understand what's taking so long, other programs need deposits like next week! has anyone else heard anything different? good luck!

Disappointing... I hear getting off the waitlist is very unlikely too (look back at the results from last year - someone commented on that).

i haven't heard anything either.....do you think they are still accepting or just prepare for the worst?

I have heard of plenty of people who have been invited to these "group interviews" at LIU @ Brooklyn. Do you think that it is safe to say that if I have not received an invite to any of their interview sessions that I won't be receiving an acceptance? I have deadlines to accept or decline for other graduate programs and like everyone else has been saying, I wish we could hear back from each school around the same time so everybody can have the same opportunity to consider each school/program.
