University of Toronto Anthropology Graduate School Admission Results

I received an acceptance letter via email last week but my status on SGS is still "under review". Has this happened to anyone else?

To poster below. I've heard that the SGS status never changes from "under review." I was notified by e-mail of my acceptance and am still waiting for the official acceptance in the mail.

Quick question to those admitted, or for anyone else that might know: I haven't received any information (email, etc.) about my status. Does this mean I'm wait listed or rejected?

To the poster below, it seems that only a few people have received acceptances and no one has posted a rejection, so I wouldn't worry just yet. Perhaps they're just waiting for the first round of admitted students to respond.

I emailed admissions 3 days ago, they said: “All successful applicants have been notified by their selected supervisors and/or faculty member. If you have not heard from a supervisor and/or faculty member, an official letter of the decision made will be mailed to you by the end of March” I figured I was rejected but I guess I will have to wait for the letter to be sure.

E-mail from MSc supervisor that I was being accepted into the PhD stream. ~$18,500 per year + free tuition per year for 4 years. Possibility for more money through grants, extended TAships, and RAships.

Email yesterday with acceptance and funding package to the PhD program. I'm a Canadian student.

Final decisions for waitlisted candidates arriving at the end of March

They heavily applied throughout my application that I was unlikely to be accepted as a non-canadian and lacking Master degree. Official letter to follow.

Mine is still 'under review' as well. Since one person was notified about being waitlisted I think we are rejected but not yet notified.

No word here either even after politely reaching out to the department. Expecting a rejection now but I feel like a generic letter in March is a pretty lame way to receive a rejection so I'm hoping for an email soon.

Canadian MA, high GPA. No email, just a letter in the mail.

Does anyone know if the University of Toronto does rolling admissions? It seems that some people have already received offers and a waitlist has gone out. Am curious to know if they have another set of offers going out or if people who haven't heard yet are definitely not being admitted :(

I got an actuall rejection letter in the mail today, it was dated on the 10th of Feb. Generic letter 'more applicants than spots'.

Amazing contact with POI in the fall, excellent GPA, great references, and a Canadian MA. All this got me was a generic three sentence rejection letter and complete radio silence from the department this month. Probably the most unprofessional rejection I've ever received, so this is most likely for the better.

So I didn't receive the letter because I'm abroad and I don't have my own mailbox/address, so the letter's probably in a random post office somewhere and the workers have no way of contacting me. I emailed and got an answer.
