University of Toronto Urban Planning Graduate School Admission Results

Received 2 identical rejection letters in one envelope on April 18th, dated March 23rd and April 6th respectively... pretty pathetic on their part.

Like the poster below me I was also rejected with two PAPER letters with different dates. Very unprofessional compared to their competition, both for the schools I've gotten into and the ones I didn't. For one of the best schools in Canada their process is pathetic.

Re poster below: I'm also waiting to hear back from Planning at U of T! Ryerson as well. It seems like in the years before, admissions had already come out by now?

A prof said they got more applications than usual this year so that's why it's taking longer to review. But mine just turned to 'Decision Made' today so I think they'll contact us very soon with the results. Fingers crossed!

BC applicant - been waiting for my status to change from "Under Review" for the last few weeks. It changed the last week of January and I haven't been notified of any other updates. I called and spoke with Marija in admissions last week and she said the admissions committee were just in the process of going over applications and would be starting to make decisions/send out offers throughout March & April!

So they actually handed out the first round of acceptances, don't believe what the faculty says. Wouldn't ve surprised if most spots were filled by now. Probably looking like a bad sign boys and girls.

Have any other applicants for the MSc Planning program received news? Acceptance or rejection - either or?

Re poster below: the status of my application changed to "Decision Made" on Tuesday after an advisor from another program emailed Marija (the MSc Planning admissions advisor) to review my application; however, I didn't get an email. I called today to inquire about what the decision was as I have to confirm my offer of admission for another program soon. Marija informed me that if my status has been changed to Decision Made but did not receive an email regarding an acceptance.. it means I have most likely been rejected and my rejection letter will come in the mail. Really disappointed in myself but at least the wait is over! Good luck to everyone else :-)

My status was changed to decision made, but no email or attachment about what the decision is.

To the person who had their status changed to decision made but did not receive an email, you got rejected but you will receive the letter in a few days. Sorry fam

Anything? Anybody? This is ridiculous. Why would they let people in duri early March and keep everyone else waiting? Unprofessional.

They're actually going to meet for Planning Admissions on the 2nd of April. The schedule specifies the 2nd for planning while the others are just "admissions" meetings. Though that could just be based on who booked the space and decided to call the meeting.

Canadian, $5500 funding, 3.43 GPA in my last 2 yrs of undergrad, lots of community and volunteer work, decent work history.

No funding but I don't care. 3.25 gpa

Status changed from "under review" to "decision made" on Monday the 25 however I did not receive the letter until April 1. Since I didn't receive an email I knew I was going to be rejected thanks to the previous posts on this forum. It really helped to get me to anticipate being rejected so it didn't sting at all once the news came. Cheers everyone, best of luck to the rest of the applicants!

I can't express how happy I am right now

Knew I was going to be rejected as my status changed to "decision made" in the portal over a week ago. Finally got rejected today by mail (??). 3.85 undergrad GPA. Already accepted the offer to my first choice anyways.

Told over email when I inquired last week because I had other offers to accept that I was waitlisted, official letter came in the mail saying 'we regret to inform we cannot accept you' blah blah blah. 3.73 GPA, related work experience and strong references, not sure how they make their decisions but whatever
