I applied to the PhD program as an undergrad. They notified me saying I wasn't qualified to apply and I asked to be put in the running for the masters program and there was no response from them. Low and behold they did! I had given up on this application and I'm so presently surprised.

To the person that got into the Masters of Information program, congrats! What was your GPA? Did you have previous experience? When did you apply?

Letter dated March 21. Short and impersonal (from template), from School of Graduate Studies. Not even a hand signature.

Low GPA but great soft skills, never underestimate the power of a well-written statement! I think my relevant experience and letters helped too.

Funding package being prepared, SSHRC Masters recipient, multiple scholarship winner, 4.0 graduate GPA

Submitted on deadline Feb 15th. Canadian student, MA in Philosophy, 3.7 graduate GPA

English Major; I didn't think I would get accepted because my GPA is only a B, and they say that competitively you should have a B+ at least. Very happy, as U of T was my first choice :)

Canadian student. GPA 3.2. Accepted in less than 2 weeks after submitting all documents. Never underestimate the power of work/volunteer experience!

Thrilled! Will be notified as to funding in March.

to the person that heard back. When did you submit your application?

TOEFL score 109. Mailed grad coordinator regarding notification as I have couple of competing offers already. She informed me that my name has not appeared in the short-listed candidates and that I may wish to proceed with my offers.

Informed via email from the admissions committee, will receive official offer from the school of graduate studies and funding info shortly. Canadian holding a M.A. from Canada.
