University of Texas at Austin Information Studies Graduate School Admission Results

I emailed the MSIS office today. Their reply, "At this time the admissions committee is currently reviewing an overwhelming amount of applications. Within this process the committee also examines each file for possible qualification of awards/funding, if available. We should hopefully have final decisions as early as mid-April."

I had given up hope but so excited! Slightly exasperated that it took so long but they were always very honest about where they were in the process. If you're stressed just ask!

To the poster below and all other MSIS applicants, I just received word form the School of Information that results will not be completed until mid or late MAY. Stay strong!

My admission status is still showing as "in review". Are any other UT applicants, through the iSchool or otherwise, still awaiting results?

Not overly surprised, but it wasn't one of my top choices so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Email: "Unfortunately I write to tell you that we are moving on to the interview stage, but your application is not one that our full faculty review identified for an interview. We know that this is not the news you wanted to here [sic], and that you put a great deal of time into your application. There was a very competitive pool this year and many interesting applications are not moving forward to interviews. We encourage you to reach out, ideally around September, for feedback towards a future application."

Interviewed 1/30/2020. Haven’t heard result yet, but the interviewers said they would get back to me by the end of February.

Emailed to inquire, didn't get good news.

No email, but randomly checked portal.

no scholarship offered, but eligible for Hazlewood exemption.

Ignore the status. Has anyone heard back from them? (OM-track)

My fifth rejection (no acceptances yet), so I've lost hope at this point :( I'm a master's student with a short talk at a conference & am part of multiple research projects (no pubs yet).

Master at the same school, current faculty advisor as the POI, received interview in the first week of January
