They emailed me suggesting that I have my app transferred to one of their masters programs. Already committed to a top 5 PhD program.

w/ $$$. ttpb: I've been advised by multiple people that negotiating on scholarship is allowed as long as you're not a jerk. Try it and remember to be nice. It's unlikely I'm going to be attending USC so some scholarship dollars will probably free up.

Anyone hear anything at all? It's been a while...

Offered admission + 4-year fellowship. Will decline the offer due to already committing elsewhere.

Invitation to meet with a faculty member. "I am happy to inform you that the Department of Economics here at USC has identified you as a strong candidate for admission to our PhD program, and we hope you are available for a Zoom chat with a faculty member during the third week of March (March 15th–19th). Before making offers, we on the admissions committee would like to know if you are still seriously interested in joining us."

Not wl. TPB (or anyone who got an interview invitation) can you please post the email you received?

Not WL. I didn't receive the interview request from USC. But I did ask them about the progress of the admission in early March. Here is what I got back from them on 1st March "Thank you for your email. No admission decisions have been made at this time. The Department plans on issuing admission decisions by mid-March. The Department understands that this is a stressful time for applicants. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your application." Hopefully, someone may find it useful. And good luck to everyone who is waiting for USC's result.

Weirdly worded rejection letter, but kind.

$30K merit scholarship

Would have probably turned it down if offered admission anyway (have heard rumors about this program being uh Not Great), so this was for the best I think
