Email telling me to check the decision online (generic rejection letter). No surprise since interviews went out a while ago. Chem/Math double major, 2.5 years research experience postbacc in a cell biology lab, 1 conference presentation, 1 mid-author publication, 1 first author publication ready for submission. Spoke to 2 POIs who expressed interest in having me rotate in their labs.

I had an informal Zoom chat with a POI in late December and an interview with the entire faculty via Zoom on January 11. I received an informal notification of acceptance from the Graduate Chair on January 18.

Received an e-mail to check the portal, the decision was there.
