Received a rejection email from the graduate admissions director at around 4PM GMT. This application was for the MPhil in History of Science, Medicine, and Technology. Very sad about this, but I am hoping that my other Oxford application is successful.

Received an email with the offer letter.

Was admitted last year, withdrew due to COVID and funding. Re-applied with supervisor's support, same proposal but more polished, improved essays, new publications and awards. Guess an improved application wasn't good enough this year! Found out last week when I asked for an early decision, so this email hurts less. Frustrating to say the least, but there are no guarantees in life.

Surprised but excited! Previous applications to Oxford and elsewhere for history of science have been rejected, so this is my first yes! No news on funding yet but fingers crossed.

Background in biomedical research, applied as a long-shot with zero experience in the humanities. Pretty excited.

To the poster below. No mention of funding yet. They are in the process of securing funding. Final decisions for funding will be made in conjunction with college selection to optimize funding possibilities. Hope this help. South African

I am a South African student. I have a first class Masters, obtained from a leading African university.

The program was really strict about your research aligning with their expertise, and mine really didn't, so this is surprising. But I applied for the January deadline with the equivalent of a first (I'm a Canadian student) and was told my application materials were strong from advisors at my home school, so I'm fairly positive the supervision issue is why I was rejected. understandable, it's Oxford and I'm from an unheard of school, but a VERY personal email. :) I'll wait. First choice school, letter to follow next week. All the best everyone.
