- The program was really strict about your research aligning with their expertise, and mine really didn't, so this is surprising. But I applied for the January deadline with the equivalent of a first (I'm a Canadian student) and was told my application materials were strong from advisors at my home school, so I'm fairly positive the supervision issue is why I was rejected.
