University of Michigan Graduate School Admission Results

1 summer research 1 master research. 2 ongoing projects. Heard from friend in UMich that they are short in funding (especially Physics department), therefore limiting admission offers.

My GRE scores were rough but I had a 4.0 for my Master's at USC so I was hoping that might make up some ground. Oh well.

Post-interview. I am international (obviously!). Expected after knowing the low acceptance rate of UMich with internationals. 'Thank you for interviewing with the Program in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Michigan. As the number of qualified candidates exceeded capacity, we regret that we are unable to offer you a position through the Program in Biomedical Sciences at this time. We wish you every success in your continued academic endeavors.'

It was so sad. Half year research visiting student in UMich. I even didn’t get interview email from UMich. I heard that there were 700+ applicants for Chem PhD this year.

Hi anybody heard from Umich yet?

Has anyone had an interview?

Applied to Math Education Track. The admission assistant informally told me over the phone. The faculty did not find me the best fit in their research. Had GRE Subject Math score.

Applied for theoretical high energy and quantum information.

Applied AMO. 3 Years CME and HE-ex research. Rec Letter from Nobel Laureate. 1 Summer REU. No pubs. War Veteran. 2 Degress in Physics and Chemistry (not double major). 1 year industry experience.

First official acceptance! Excellent research fit. Gotta go visit and see if I can hack it in Ann Arbor
