Awful GPA, underwhelming coursework but did 1 REU and got carried by recommendation letters. Had personal contact with a faculty member.

Referred to MAPSS - hoping for a positive result! :)

I was really hyped for this but it came with no funding! So I'm probably gonna reject it. International Student from IRAN, IELTS 8, took the GRE but did not submit! Strong Portfolio.

Referred to MAPSS for the second time. MAPSS IS A SCAM, they will not provide full funding, the program is weak, and it's a huge cohort. My recommendation would be to try to ask the office to use the recommendation for other MA programs.

Non-EU Applicant. Rejected on grounds of being an ECE undergrad :/ Got notification 4 weeks from application submission.

TTPB: I am a MMathCompSci at ox; do not read anything into delays and other people's acceptances/rejections, Oxbridge postgrad admissions are very much done on a rolling basis regardless of what the website says. It is far from unusual for funded CS PhD opportunities to suddenly appear on the dept website in June or even in the summer, though if you are admitted through that stream you might be college-less (in the Oxbridge sense) for a year and live next to the train station.

Application will be considered by MAPSS.

Same email as the candidates before. Terribly disappointed. Not even an apology. I didn't think they could do this. Any thoughts for a strong complaint?

I was “recommended for admission.”

Emailed the director to ask when we can expect a reply. "Thanks for reaching out. The admissions committee is currently reviewing applications, so you should expect to hear something within the next couple of weeks."
