To the uiuc poster below asking for information : I have been waitlisted at uiuc. I received a mail saying that they will probably have a better idea about waitlisted candidates once the responses to the offers come by Monday. In case someone is not planning to join uiuc it would be helpful if you respond early! Many thanks.

I wasn't expecting to be accepted, but I was surprised at how long it took for them to reject me. Thankfully, I wasn't super keen on going here anyway, since I really want to be an observer, and this school is more known for it's computational work these days. I've also got one acceptance already, so not too bummed at all! Hope some of y'all got some great news today!

Theory. Meh. Sort of expected this. I was surprised it took so long. Maybe was in an "unoffical" waitlist. Anyway I got into a better place for hep-ph/th (NOT STRINGS/GRAVITY!! :P) although it has a lower ranking.

Gpa is grad. Accepted after being top 3 on waitlist. Was interviewed by DGS. Had a nice chat and was told was accepted. Waiver of tuition and stipend of 18k. Excited!

To those who got better offer than UIUC. Please respond to the department asap! UIUC is my dream school. Please do so please

One publication, one conference presentation, forthcoming publications, one very strong LOR and two (presumably) good ones. Very good funding offer and nominated for a university scholarship. Very surprised/happy to hear back so early.
