Emailed to check in because I hadn't heard, got immediate response

1.5 years of industry, 1 year of research, won poster competition. 3.2 GPA from highly competitivecompetitive school

Upon inquiry, I was told the first round of offers had been sent out and that not many more would come but I would know before April 15th. I'll probably decline soon as I have some other good offers.

Got an email to check application status. Still no letter from the department regarding acceptance or a visit weekend. I was really interested in Boulder but their late acceptance compared to other schools and lack of information and communication with the actual department is really disappointing.

Unofficial phone call from a professor I was interested in followed by an email. Will receive the official acceptance in the mail soon.

6 years industry research experience, 2 years academic research experience, 1 publication (3rd author), 1 conference presentation (march meeting) My to-be PI and the admissions chair emailed me on March 12 saying that I was on a 50 person waitlist. The chair said there were financial concerns and were cutting admissions (combination of high admission rate last year and federal funding). I followed up on 4/14 in the morning and heard from the chair around 10 pm MDT that I will not be admitted. I'm very disappointed because my PI and I had been working together for over 6 months developing a research plan. We got along well and I was excited to work on the project.
