Well. Expected but still dejected.

Application recommended for MAPH

Checked the portal, no email. Absolutely gutted but not surprised considering I was not invited to interview. 2 first author published research papers, honors college, internship, 2 conference presentations, study abroad, nationally competitive scholarship recipient. Congratulations to all who were accepted.

Pretty Disappointed.

There was no interview, someone on Reddit told me that they got a decision so I checked and was rejected. From the UK 4.0 GPA Master of Physics degree, ranked first in my year. 2 pubs in The Astrophysical Journal, multiple webinars, and also held a lecture on plasma physics.

From the UK 4.0 GPA Master of Physics degree (combined master's and bachelor's). 2 publications in Astrophysical Journal, Multiple international webinars, held a lecture on plasma physics to sixth form students (12th grade).

Ignore waitlist -- has anyone heard from here yet?

My eighth rejection this cycle. Checked the portal to see my rejection letter without being notified by any emails. I already expected this result because I didn't receive any interview invitations, although one of my recommenders knows two faculty members there pretty well :( Personal background: Undergraduate: earned from a prestigious UK university, First-Class Honours Degree (GPA 3.85/4.00 after WES evaluation), 1 year of research experience (4 different projects in total, including 1 UROP summer internship at Imperial College London), 3 preprints on arXiv, 2 strong LoR from my undergraduate project advisors; Graduate: currently earning my master's at WashU, GPA 3.43/4.00 (physics major GPA 3.62/4.00), 1.5 years of research experience (master's thesis project), currently writing my first-author paper, 2 department symposium experiences and 1 conference experience (3 posters presented in total), 1 strong LoR from my current PI. GRE 323+4.0 submitted.
