University of California (UCLA) Physics Graduate School Admission Results

(ST column and see reference at the bottom of the page) It is true that UCLA admits very few international applicants. But never give up! Hope that you will get admitted! Cheers.

(Ignore the interview part). Has anyone heard from UCLA hep-th/ph yet? I'm an international student, UCLA is my dream school, and my anxiety is killing me... (I also saw someone claim that he/she is the only international applicant accepted this year by UCLA's physics department a couple of weeks ago, but I refuse to give up hope...)

I contacted POI before applying and he responded positively. GPA 8.32; MajGPA 8.85, No Publications

Ignore the interview part. TTPB: I am not the person you asked, but I also was admitted for CMT (soft matter specifically). I have a 3.9 GPA at a middle of the road state university in Physics and Math. I have 2 years of research experience in soft matter theory. I believe that my letters of recommendation are excellent. Hope this helps!

Got an acceptance email! Was just told I was the only international applicant accepted by the physics department this year!!! WOW!!

TTPB: Yes, UCLA has sent out some acceptances, I got one in an email a few days ago. You can check the previous results here. Also to the Michigan guy below that keeps asking "hAvE aLL oFfeRs gOnE oUt ???", the other dude is obviously trolling you. However are any of us supposed to know whether or not all acceptances have gone out for your specific subfield? Are you that one guy that keeps emailing the department for updates every day. Stop making useless posts here please.

Has anyone heard from UCLA ? I have mailed their grad office a couple of times to know my status but haven't anything back

TTPB: no previous contact, just received an informal acceptance email from physics dept with funding info to come. My case may have been different though since this is my current undergrad university, and I'm working in Hep-ex here currently. Invitation to open house on March 9-10, so I would believe they are rolling out acceptances till then. Good luck!
