Surprised but stoked!! 3 publications, 1 first author; very strong letters of rec from 3 professors I've done research with, and 1 from an industry research PI! No interview, no-name state school

Was offered an unfunded MSc in Applied & Computational Mathematics instead.

First offer! So excited!!

I knew this was a long shot. CS undergrad (3.8 major GPA) with math minor, 1 journal pub in bioinformatics, 2 CS conference pubs. I have a feeling my GRE played a large part in it which I sent before they said it was optional. Also I feel like it would be easy for adcomm to include the main factor in the rejection. Third rejection so far. Sad.
