I still did not hear from NU, should I expect a rejection?

@the last northwestern admitted guy: I wrote to the dept. contact and also to the Prof. of interest. The Prof's reply: "Dear X, The chair of the Admissions Committee, Professor Velasco, is the one who would make a decision on admission, and unfortunately she is out of town. I would suggest that if you have not received an offer of admission from Northwestern at this point, it is unlikely that you will receive one before the April 15 deadline, so it is probably best to explore your other options." FML

@ waitlisted person below. I contacted one of the professors i wanted to work with and asked him to look over my application. he emailed me back saying he would and couples day later i got the acceptance letter. maybe you should try the same

Response to my query: "Hi XXX, At this time, no decision has been made on your application. We have a rolling admissions process and may accept applicants right up until the April 15th deadline. I understand you have your own decision to make, and I'm sorry I can't give you a more precise timeline." what the hell am I supposed to do? I have one admit (funded) from Pitt

Spoke with Grant. Said they are in the process of rejecting international students and that there is no way of knowing the order of the waitlist.

Yep, I talked to him. I didn't ask him what my place was on the list, he just said that based on everything he's seen they won't be making me an offer. I'm going to go ahead and accept my (only) other offer.

I called NWestern this morning and was told I was on the waiting list, but there was basically no way I would be getting an offer from them.

This is a final plea. If you have been accepted and will not be attending Northwestern, please decline.

There goes my last chance of doing AMO physics.Do all the big shots wanna do AMO?4 rejections 1 acceptance.Application process sucks!

GPA 3.95/4.00, tons of research, excellent letters. Oh well, already accepted to Michigan =)
