New York University Physics Graduate School Admission Results

Astrostats + observation. ~1.5 years research experience, 2 first author pubs in ApJ, a few talks/posters, strong LORs, strong statement, no big awards, no GRE, no teaching experience. Emailed potential advisors in October + November but was ignored. No interview. Honestly a little surprised because my physics background is relatively weak. 4/0/5 accept/reject/waiting. Virtual visit March 31 - April 1.

Just declined my offers, good luck to those waiting.

Finally! All results in now. Was not a good match - so makes sense.

Double major Physics, Astronomy / 3.6 GPA / no GRE scores submitted

I saw this coming, at this point. Still, disappointing.

TTPP: Which email did you use to contact them? I emailed asking about the decision timeframe a week ago or so and got a generic "go look at the website" response (despite the website giving essentially zero information). I still have no decision in the portal as well - not sure what to think of all this.

Sent a email to the department inquiring about admission status, was informed that "We have just completed our admissions cycle for the year", and told "We wish you all the best in your future endeavors."

(Ignore Waitlist) Is the department not sending out rejections or something? Applied for HEP-ex and it's mid-March with no word still. At this point I'm treating this as a rejection given posts about them having an open house next week, but who knows...

(other, not waitlist) TTPB: According to the email I got, the open house is March 22-23, so more like three weeks away.

Ignore the waitlist, this is for the person who asked if anyone got an acceptance. I received my acceptance last week, I know they're doing a virtual open house in two weeks. I hope this information helps
