Massachusetts Institute of Technology Graduate School Admission Results

Accepted off of the waitlist. I was notified not even an hour after I had already committed to Stanford. Bummer.

I've been noticing a lot of people being jerked around by Media Lab admissions. The process needs an update and _now_. For instance, I've been on a waitlist for months because a prof decided he couldn't make up his mind in March. The Tech (MIT's student newspaper) is thinking of writing an op ed, but we need your help. Email mlfml@mit.edu if you are willing to contribute. Please make your voice heard.

This program may dazzle people but it is not worth the effort. The profs decide that they are not accepting students after the applicants submit their application. There is no status page to tell you the status of your application, test scores, and transcripts. The admission process takes ages and there is no clear date around which you can expect the results. So, it's a useless and disappointing wait anyhow. And they won't even tell you whether you got in or not. if you've been rejected - they are too lazy to email you. You may or may not receive a letter by postal mail. Clearly they don't do enough given the resources at their disposal

Is there anyone who is still waiting on the wait-list decisions from MIT EECS? I am wait-listed for Comp. Sci. and wondering if there is still any hope for good news? If you were or still are on this wait-list, please mail me at boxy.moxy@gmail.com. I would really appreciate it.

Guess I blew that interview.

Stopped by the graduate admissions office today and was basically told that all decisions are out except for a select few who have been wait-listed (including me apparently). I have no knowledge of how large this list is, and the lady I spoke to said she didn't know when wait-list decisions would be made.
