I got an email from an administrator this morning, cc-ed to poi.

Who sent the acceptance emails?? At what time did you receive?

Accepted with full RA funding, POI copied on email. High GPA from top-5 undergrad program, several years of research with 4 publications, and multiple prestigious industry internships.

I'm sorry.

2.5 years of teaching experience in my undergraduate university, 2 research articles, 1 project, Secured 1st position out of 127 students. Thought I would be accepted, anyway good luck

TTPB: My interests line up with social networks. From my experience this cycle, the more interdisciplinary/'unusual' (in a good way!) a program is, the more likely interviews are to matter. For example, no straightCS programs I applied to interviewed me before being accepted. But every information science program had interviews. This is simply because the interdisciplinary/unusual programs are looking for a more niche person.

Thank you for applying to the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT and thank you for your patience during this lengthy admissions process. Unfortunately, we are unable to admit you to our graduate program. This year we received a record number of applicants, but we were only able to admit approximately 1 in 10. As a result, we had to turn away hundreds of highly-qualified applicants. We truly wish you well in your future endeavors.

ttpb: Got my BSc. and MSc. mech eng from ETH Zurich, over one year research experience and one planned publication. Undergrad GPA within top 3%. And good luck for everyone else!

Did any international master applicant receive the admit?

Are all the admitted Masters applicants international ?

Apparently this is the only round of acceptance for PhD students. Others who didn't get accepted today will either be waitlisted or rejected. For those who have been admitted, please make your decision quickly, to spare some chance for waitlisted people. But who declines MIT lol!
