Brain And Cognitive Sciences, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) 4 Conference pubs (3 accepted, 1 in-review), 1 workshop pub in top CS conference, 4 very strong LORs. Had first round of interviews, but was not invited to final interview stage in March. I was made aware by my POI that My CS/Engineering background did not match the profile that they were looking for in BCS. Grateful nonetheless, all the best to everyone else!

EAPS, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Undergrad gpa: 8.58/10, 3 first author papers, 4 published in total (2 under review), 4+ years of research experience after undergrad, 4 undergrad research projects, strong SOP, had amazing connection with PI. But received a mail saying extreme competition and lack of enough funds. Very very disheartened but good luck to ones who got accepted.

Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Generic rejection mail. Unexpected and shocked! I interviewed with them in early January. Maybe because of less research work (1 year) in the field I applied in. Profile: 1 Publication in progress, 4 Research Experiences (1 full year experience), Class Rank 1, Lot of Community Services and Social Work, TA for 2 courses. Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Generic rejection email. Was expecting this, congrats to everyone who got in!! Did around 3 years of research with 2 publications from it, also a few presentation awards and other ECs. I don't think my essays were that strong and also my grades in my ChemE coursework were subpar. Good luck to all!
