Got an email from a POI. Seems like it will be a fairly informal interview.

I had a Zoom interview with POI for 15 minutes. POI explained the project he/she has been working on and the potential role I could play if I participated in the project.

" Applicant information is being reviewed by MSE faculty who are looking for new graduate students in Fall 2022. You may be contacted by any member of the MSE faculty that has an interest in you. If a faculty member notifies the academic office that they are interested in you, then your application will be given a final review by our Graduate Committee for an admission decision. Unfortunately, we are unsure when a decision will be made on your application. It MAY not be before April 15"

Major in Physics, minor in Math. Tutoring for two years in my undergraduate. 1.5-year research experience. No publication.

Ignore Waitlist. Have anyone heard back from Georgia tech in soft matter physics/condensed matter physics or computational physics?

A professor (not POI) emailed asking if I was interested to join their group, and invited for an informal online meeting.

I applied for the MS , and I wrote that I want to earn a PhD degree in the future. A professor(not POI) contacted me and gave me an interview.

Today, one of the potential advisors contacted me for the interview, and we made the schedule for the interview. I believe the interview process of Civil Engineering at the GIT just began.
