Thank you for your application to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Georgetown University. This year, the Graduate School received over 10,000 applications for our Masters and Ph.D. programs. As you can understand, the selection process for admission to all of our programs is very competitive, and given the nature of graduate study, the number of students admitted to our programs must be severely limited. As a result, the Admissions Committee was forced to make many difficult choices among a pool of highly accomplished applicants. I would like to assure you that the Admissions Committee gave your application careful consideration; however, we regret to inform you that we are unable to approve your admission to the Ph.D. in Government program for the Fall 2025 semester. We appreciate your interest in Georgetown University and would like to wish you success in your future academic and career endeavors.

Received an email to check the portal today. Generic letter of rejection and no communication from the department while I waited.

30k/yr (50%) scholarship. Top public UG, Fulbright, NGO. 1 crit lang.

American at top international school. 1 yr part time work experience outside of field and minimal related extracurriculars. Strong academic record and LORs. No GRE. Mostly still in shock.

~3 years of relevant internship/work experience, including 1 yr abroad. $28k/year renewable scholarship.

Ignore status, hate to be that guy but has anyone who's applied to STEM PhD programs received an official acceptance letter from the Graduate School?

GPA is MA program. American History Subfield. 0a/3r/1p Guess this first cycle was just not meant to be.

Masters of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) Program

Accepted but "I regret to inform you that due to limited funds, we are unable to grant your request for scholarship or fellowship assistance". 5+ years of experience in research and analytics.

Please ignore the status. Has anyone heard back after the interview day?

I did not take the GRE but I submitted a strong optional writing example. I also had strong LoRs and one government internship with a few other summer jobs.
