Emory University Graduate School Admission Results

Rejected from the PhD, offered a spot in the MSPH program (unfunded). The acceptance letter contradicts a lot of the feedback in the rejection letter, so it was weird to receive one of each. They also sent instructions on how to register for the visit day, but you can't register because it's already full.

I was waitlisted at Emory back in late-February. If you have an offer there, but you don’t plan to accept, let them know as soon as possible. It’s my top choice.

Is anyone else waiting to get a response of any sort from Emory? It doesn't look like they usually stagger out rejections so much, but I haven't heard a peep. I contacted the department and they said that, although the "vast majority" of applicants have been notified, there are still a few left to send out. I'm thinking it might be a secret waitlist, but who knows, really?

Hey! Same status as the post below. Haven't heard from them yet. I wrote to them in the last week of Feb. They said they'll be done sending out the results in the following couple of weeks. Nothing yet. What do you think is happening?

To the poster below regarding Emory: I heard back from the Director of Grad. Admissions. Those of us who haven't heard anything were most likely part of a small pool of applicants they kept on the shelf in case of "unexpected openings." Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there will be any, so we can expect formal rejections soon. Frankly, I'm pleased to have made it this far!

Phone call from POI and official e-mail from the graduate program.

Whoever's got selected but don't intend to pursue this program, kindly decline the offer ASAP.

Yes! Same doubt. What about the international students? The director of Graduate Admissions said that I am on the waiting list. But, that was mid-Feb. I did not receive any information about the 'open house'. God knows what's happening.

If you were notified in February, you're on the primary list. If you were not notified in February, you're on the secondary list. The entire primary list must pass up their offer before they move on to the secondary list.

Does anyone get accepted from Waitlist? I want post this since I want to know whether someone get admitted from waitlist.

I can not understand how long the decision process is taking. Emailed but received no response. :(

Accepted off of the waitlist, it actually happens! I am beyond thrilled as this was my top choice.

Quite surprised. I strongly believe my personal statement was my saving grace. Generous funding.

No pubs, Three years full-time research in academia and industry during undergrad. Call from a faculty member to be on the lookout for official email from department head.
