The enrollment in the doctoral program in Electrical Engineering at EPFL comprises two steps: First, the positive evaluation of the application by the doctoral program; second, once the first step is achieved, the hiring of the candidate by a supervisor belonging to the doctoral program in Electrical Engineering at EPFL in his/her research group. We are pleased to inform you that after careful review, your application file has been positively evaluated by the commission of the Electrical Engineering doctoral program and you have therefore passed the first step. Your record has now been transmitted to the faculty members affiliated to our doctoral program and remains in the database for one year. Depending on your profile, the thesis directors might contact you for an interview if an opportunity arises in their research groups. It is not necessary that you contact the faculty members yourself. Please note that you are definitively admitted to the program only if you are offered, and have accepted, a research assistantship by one of our thesis directors. Got the admission from coordinator of the department and invitation to Lausanne for on site interview from potential PI.

Got rejection from the program administrator. Didn't expect that because I have received the admission from another doctoral program. Guess there are some strict screenings on those who are applying to different programs at the same time?
