Applied for research in CFD. Have a Master's GPA of 3.84 in Aerospace Engineering. Research experience includes: Research Fellowship at the Indian Institute of Technology (3 papers published), Visiting Research Scholarship at Texas A&M, Master's thesis at UCSD.

Undergrad GPA 3.7 (after WES conversion). MSc from the Roslin Insitute, University of Edinburgh, UK (fully funded Scholarship). Contacted POI before submission of application and had an informal chat with him. Was Invited to official interview (online, zoom) mid December. Offer came as a pleasant surprise as it was the only school I applied to. No pubs yet, but two papers in preparation. International conference attendance too. Best wishes!

GPA 9.03/10.00 from a premier Indian Institute, Participation and a Gold in iGEM, Masters Thesis at Max Planck. No GREs, Good TOEFL scores. First and the only acceptance until now after a long list and time period of rejections. Best wishes for the waitlisted and/or rejected ones. Dont loose hope. Something good will happen :). Not at all surprised! Applied just as a one-shot since a friend studies there. However, I know I'm better off with a more diversified crew. Congrats to the admitted kids!

TTPB: I got a phone call from POI mentioned in statement last week, who proceeded to interview me informally. A couple days later, I received an official letter of admission with financial offer attached.

Emailed yesterday to ask if there was an updated status of my app, then received a rejection email the following day.

Offered master instead.

Very happy-GRE scores were modest, so I was sure I would be rejected on that basis. However, high GPA, publications, research experience. Clearly, GRE is not everything!

TPB: I have not yet heard from Maryland. They did not start their process early enough, and I think it is about time for them to finish interviews and the first round of offer to be extended but I have not seen anyone saying "Interview" so may not have interviews yet even. For Cornel, they have made some offers, but students are taking time to response since some top schools have just made their offers recently. For Penn State, you can email the PhD coordinator. He is a great guy. If you think you may have a chance and live in the U.S., you may want to fly out this coming week and visti the campus and talk with the coordinator. He will tell you that he is still waiting to hear from the ones he made offers, but I think it is worth checking and putting efforts in.
