No interview before, Offer with TA position

TTPB (Microbiology)...honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Despite ASU's talk of inclusivity, I haven't found that to be the case (neither now, nor, for the most part, with the exception of one PI, during my undergrad there). I had 11 years research experience, two publications, poster presentations and abstracts, almost done with masters, postbacc at Yale, sterling letters of rec, an REU, letter from my POI who I worked for during undergrad, four ASU faculty and a Yale professor who I did research with and designed my own project under, etc. and was still rejected. Not even waitlisted. I can personally tell you that a lot of politics go into admissions and that info was from a professor emeritus there. I found a smaller program that honestly has a better academic/ research reputation that's more inclusive and if you applied to ASU with great stats and still got that kind of a response, I'd recommend the same thing. They also are apparently headed toward quite the funding crisis and I was encouraged actually by the director of bio and society not to apply again bc funding issues were likely to persist, although that's only a small piece of why I didn't get in. There are other programs out there that are better, less competitive, and less likely to gatekeep I'd recommend.

3.74 Undergrad, 4.0 Masters, 3 years of research experience, currently working in clinical research, and received "we are not able to offer you admission" along with 140 other people who received the mass email. Will try again next year. If you are reading this, keep your head up and keep moving forward.

Sorry just correcting my post below - I got accepted for the PhD program in Economics, not Financial Economics.

Accepted off the waitlist. Can scarcely believe it especially as the department only took off 1 person from the waitlist last year. To those of you still on waitlist - please be patient and your hopes up, there is always a chance. All the best!

Btech in EEE (University of Kerala) with Gpa 8.7/10, also possess MBA from Canada( gpa 3.9/4). 4 yrs work experience.

To anyone in still in review for the MA for Women and Gender Studies, I emailed yesterday and was told to expect results in a week or so. Was also informed this program usually doesn't offer funding so if you have upcoming acceptance deadlines keep this in mind.

I am so unbelievably excited. Will be accepting! Tuition remission and stipend for three years.

Emailed asking about the status of my application and was told they are waiting to hear back from the first round of admits, all applications are on hold for now. Final decisions expected by mid-April.
