Mathematics PhD Graduate School Admission Results

Currently doing master's degree in Maths with 4.38/5.00 GPA no publication but have some research experience

I genuinely plead those who have received offers from Utah but may not be considering acceptance, to kindly decline, as Utah holds special significance for me in pursuing my passion for probability. I sincerely hope that all individuals are able to achieve their dreams.

Got in on the wait-list at the last minute, can't believe it! No GRE, one publication.

This is a message for all applicants. Based on my own personal contact with grad programs and from multiple forums, the vast majority of schools are having a difficult time sending second-round offers because far too many people are holding onto their offers. To give some examples, Ohio has said that only a third of their admitted/waitlisted students have responded while my alma mater's waitlist has not budged since February. I understand that the people holding onto their offers are waiting to hear back but this in turn is holding back the entire admissions process by giving less time for second-round offers and hurting other waitlisted applicants. We are at a stalemate. The only resolution is to drop the schools you KNOW you would not attend. Weigh your odds with your reach schools but try to decline some if you can. This will finally start moving the waitlist and in turn, you WILL hear back from your waitlisted schools. It's either we all cooperate and hear some good news or we don't and nobody gets into any of their waitlisted schools. The choice is yours.

Anyone heard feedbacks from the program? How many students were on the waitlist?

Rejected. Evaluation score 7.0. On the application portal the status never changed from "Submitted", but there were others whose status changed to "Invited to interview" before they received the official email notification.

Did anybody get off the waitlist at UVA? How many people got first round offers?

I'll be declining the waitlist. I have also turned down a waitlist from UMass Amherst (I accidentally posted the result without writing the comment). I hope it helps someone.

Just received email from graduate office that we offering you admission, no details about funding or TAship. How I will know that I have funding as well, plz let me know?

Rejected on Apr. 7th. Not a good match, so never expect an admission.

I was waitlisted and they informed me (via email) that they will not be able to make me an offer this year, despite my application being "worthy". Big suck.

It is a heartbreaking notification. I feel so sad that no professor is interested in me.

Speak face-to-face with the program administrator, about 5 students are on the waitlist. Please decline NYU Courant if you have a better offer. This is my last hope and the most suitable one for me. Your actions can really help someone else's dream come true. please!
