Computer Science PhD Graduate School Admission Results

Crappy day for me i guess, but i got into UIUC so to hell with Iowa State

Got an invitation email to the Ph.D. Open House.

Got an email to check website. Website says "As of 03/10/2019 the status of your application is Update Pending." Anyone in the same boat?

Without any funding!!!

I received an email from immigration services at UGA said that I have been admitted by UGA, and I need to indicate the student's visa type. Then I log in to the application system, found that the status became "Offer of admission". No interview, no funding information at this time.

Tired of waiting for hearing something from Columbia University. It's like I am a piece of sh** who applied to their school. Even no response for my emails to staffs. Honestly, tired of thinking about it and keep fighting for it. Why do they keep processing the applications in hold? Isn't their jobs looking at the applications? Why a process that requires at most 2 or 3 weeks takes 3 months? What are they doing? Why don't they simply say "reject"?

i got in last week, and was told that not all students were invited to the open house -- anyone know why they didnt invite everyone? does this mean I wasn't a ''good enough'' candidate (just curious)

I had applied for the MS/PhD program and my "Graduate Application Center" shows my status as accepted along with an explanation for acceptance. However I'm unable to figure out where the student center is(where we have to accept/reject the offer). I'm also unable to figure out if the accept is for PhD or MS. Those who have received offers from UMass, did you also receive a formal decision letter somewhere? Also please could you guide me on how you reached the student center? Is the interface different for different students?

Accepted to MS/PhD Area : NLP/IR No interview

I got accepted into the program, but I am unable to view my admit letter. Anyone else able to open the letter?

To the previous poster, neither can I. Do you mind telling your area? Also do you know who your POI is?

Did anyone hear back from Columbia University? It seems that they haven't sent out emails to anyone. I'm not optimistic for my application there, but it feels weird that it takes such a long time for them to send our rejections compared to other big names.

To the posters below, be patient. Most of the people accepted to Columbia were also accepted to other top schools. They will take time to decide after the visit days are over. MIT/CMU/Stanford and others have the visit days this month. As a matter of fact, MIT's is next week. So expect to hear by the end of the month. You are probably on the waitlist. All the best!

I haven't got any result so far. I have a speculation that POIs only send offer emails, and that the left reject emails might be sent all together at some final day. Maybe this Friday.
