Computer Science PhD Graduate School Admission Results

To those who have received decisions, how did you find out? Would the application page change to reflect the acceptance/rejectance or is it through emails?

I was first emailed by prof. Haralick (the chair), and the next day got an email that a decision was made on the website.

Had Skype interview with 2 professors several weeks prior to getting official email with acceptance letter, with professors telling me at end of Skype interview they were recommending me for admission

2 years research experience and 1 paper

Interview with Professor outside my area of interest. Offered TA position during interview.

Did anyone receive funding yet?

To the American student who got admitted to UCI and had skype with two professors, may I ask your area? Thank you.

I had one interview with POI earlier in Feb. Area is ML/NLP.

To PhD applicants who got interviews, has anyone heard back? :( Do they normally reject after interviews?

If anybody got accepted from this university and plan not to go there please decline the offer sooner so that others who want to attend this university get a chance in admission. PLEASE

First PhD accept with full funding! Although the decision will be difficult. Anyone reading this would you choose this vs. a self funded masters and University of California San Diego. Both in Computer Science of course

To the two posters below who received acceptances from USC, was this your first time hearing from them or had received correspondence before?

To the poster below: I'm not one of the ones you were asking, but I got my acceptance today and it was the first I have heard. I had no interview nor previous correspondence before acceptance. My general area is theory. Research related stats: 1 currently unpublished research paper, first author. 1 undergraduate conference talk. Letter of Recomendations: 1 awesome, 1 good, 1 OK

Are people still waiting?

Talked to the admissions office. If you have not heard from them yet, you are essentially on a waitlist. They are waiting to hear from admitted students to see how many more spots they can give out. So please turn down the offer as soon as possible if you are not going. They will not send out any more notifications until you do!

Have they rolled out all the PhD admits for NLP?
