I contacted the PI prior and got really positive feedback, applied and got no news until rejection in portal. I personally feel betrayed since I could not even afford the application fee (international student). I feel now they generally say apply to "everyone" to they can make enough money (otherwise, I spend days preparing/talking to them, the least they could do was to explain my rejection in more details). I mean, you know my application quality, why bother giving hope to those who are barely holding and not even privileged enough to apply to many schools (due to application fee). Ngl, I just want to say fuck you UofT.

The only PhD program out of the 12 I applied to that failed to give me a decision by the April 15th deadline. They still have not gotten back to me with a decision. I applied to all schools in mid-december. Very unprofessional. Not to mention the application fee was absurdly high. Save yourself some money and don't apply here.
