Computer Science PhD Graduate School Admission Results

I regret to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the Ph.D. Program in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Due to the large number of applications we receive we are unable to provide individualized feedback on your application. The Computer Science Department received over 1700 applications this year, and our program can support only a small number of new students. Unfortunately, this means that there were many highly qualified applicants we could not admit to our program. If you have applied to more than one program within the School of Computer Science, you will hear from each program individually. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Yayyy! Applied on the last day Jan 15th. Interviewed by a Professor on Feb 1st. Offered RA by two favorite Profs on Mar 8th. Not a girl, but this is a big and meaningful gift for me on 8/3. Happy International Women's Day!

No interview. Admission with a 5-year stipend. Need to match with the supervisor during orientation.

Maybe I was not worthy of it. Still being positive. I know this is not the end. The best part is somehow it taught me to work harder and be a better person. Congrats to everyone who got accepted. You won in life!

I am confident that you have many terrific opportunities available to you. I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors."

We have completed our review of all applications received for our PhD program for 2024. With much sadness, I must let you know that we are unable to admit you this year. I appreciate the enormous effort you have expended in preparing your application and in laying the foundation for graduate work. I understand the disappointment that my note brings, and I am truly sorry.

No Interview. I guess this is how it is with top universities.
