Computer Science Masters Graduate School Admission Results

First acceptance! From an average uni in India. No publications. 3 years of work experience. The status had changed to 'additional review required' a week ago and the decision changed to 'Conditional admit' today. Still haven't received the letter though.

Any idea if more admits are in the pipeline or if those who haven't heard yet are rejected?

MCS program. got an email saying there was a status update. really happy that I got admitted. I have 1 yr work experience + 1 workshop publication in AAAI. Probably will be attending if I don't get any other better admits in the next 2 weeks

checked the website randomly to find out I was denied. Applied for non-thesis option. Really regret applying to this school, which doesn't even send a generic rejection letter. I had to check the portal every day in case there was an update.

Was about to log into Spire to check my status, and then realized I got a rejection in the morning. To be honest, feeling kind of relieved.

TTPB: I have been waiting for USC decision since October 2020. Its been one long patience test tbh. Lets pray for the best.

Applied to HCP as PM in AI research org of FAANG company with 2.5 YOE. Undergrad from top 5 public school with double major in computer science and finance, 3 YOE as teaching assistant for CS classes, no research experience, GPA 3.82, GRE 168Q/167V/5.5 AWA. Strong rec letters from FAANG director in AI, well-known professor who I work with, and TA supervising professor. Solid SOP.

Any online groups for UIC MS CS admits?

Yes!! On the portal, it showed Additional Review Required for a week or so now offered conditional admit(since still pursuing UG) any way torn between choosing UTD & UIC (cost, RA, job)

TTPB Admit : Congratulations! Was your application marked "Additional Review Required" too before the final decision? If so, how long did it take from additional review to the decision?

Actually, showing conditional admit as I am still pursuing my undergrad. How can I see the decision letter? Do I have to pay a non-refundable $300 to view the decision letter?

No email, just portal says my application was unsuccessful. Interviewed in February, did horribly, asked me basic ML questions but I have not been using ML for years so I forgot everything, should've reviewed. No pub. I am not too keen on doing research anyway. Going to Yale, take some courses and get my masters degree.

TTPB: MS/PhD applicant here. Looking at the previous year's result dates in GradCafe, we should be getting results for MS/PhD over the course of the week. ATB!

Lol. People channelizing all their rejection frustration by ranting over the portal. THIS WOULDN'T MAKE YOU FEEL ANY BETTER. You better work on your profile and make yourself worthy of the portal. No one from the univ told you to continuously check the portal. You better write a script that does it for you just like our god BeanBag (i.e., Vijay R**) from the Yocket group did. Why can't you people just wait for 2 more days when you have waited for 5 months. Rather utilize your time in improving your f*ing computer science knowledge.

TTPB: Applied for just MS. However, still under review. It's been 3 and a half months.

TTPB: I can understand how you might be feeling after getting a rejection. But, with this attitude, calling other students mediocre, you are never going to reach any where great. There might be always some reason for you to not get an admit. Having A* papers do not guarantee MS admits. I have been accepted to CMU and UCB PhD, but rejected by UCSD.

Multiple A* publications and research experience in the industry. I completely understand that UMass rejected me. You wouldn't want the other accepted students to realise how mediocre they actually are. Looking forward to hire UMass students for low capability jobs once I graduate from the top5 school that I'll be attending.
